Schneider Electric has entered into an investment agreement with Shelly Group, the Sofia-based provider of IoT and smart building solutions. The agreement enables the way for Schneider Electric’s planned voluntary public tender offer for all outstanding shares in Shelly Group. Subject to regulatory approvals and shareholder acceptance, the transaction is expected to close by Q1 2027.
The acquisition keeps Shelly’s headquarters and operations in Bulgaria, with Schneider Electric committing to maintain the company’s organizational structure, workforce, and R&D teams for at least three years following completion.
What Shelly Brings to Smart Buildings
Shelly has evolved from a connected devices provider into a software-led platform for home energy management and smart buildings. The company combines interoperable hardware with cloud-enabled services and open interfaces, allowing integration across residential and small-building applications.
