Dreame has officially received Matter certification for its Navo Smart Lock A10. This regulatory approval arrived sooner than many industry observers anticipated and marks a significant step for the company in the interoperable smart home market. The certification confirms the device utilizes Matter over Thread, ensuring fast, local communication with major platforms including Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa without the latency or battery drain of Wi-Fi.

The addition of Matter over Thread transforms the Navo A10 from a standalone device into a central component of a unified smart home ecosystem. By utilizing Thread’s mesh networking technology, the lock connects securely to existing Border Routers rather than clogging the user’s Wi-Fi network. This allows for rapid response times and local control, ensuring the lock remains responsive even if the internet connection goes down.

Unlocking Capabilities and Hardware

The Navo A10 features versatile entry options to suit different user preferences. The hardware supports nine distinct unlocking methods to ensure access is always available. Primary access points include an onboard fingerprint scanner and a standard keypad for PIN codes. The fingerprint sensor utilizes artificial intelligence to improve recognition speed and accuracy over time. Users can also utilize NFC cards for quick entry or rely on traditional mechanical keys as a backup.

Power Efficiency and Design

Dreame designed the Navo A10 with a focus on long-term performance and ergonomics. Thanks to the efficiency of the Thread protocol, the internal power management system allows the lock to operate for up to 18 months on a single set of batteries.
