Aqara has officially launched the Multi State Sensor P100. This new device steps away from traditional magnetic contact designs to offer a single unit that detects movement, tilt, and orientation. The sensor supports both Thread and Zigbee protocols to ensure broad compatibility across major smart home platforms.

Advanced Detection in a Single Unit
Traditional open and close sensors require perfect alignment between two separate pieces. The P100 simplifies this by using internal accelerometers and gyroscopes to detect physical changes from one piece of hardware. You just peel and stick the device to any door or object.
The sensor accurately monitors opening and closing events by tracking rotational angle changes. It also supports a dedicated object monitoring mode to detect vibration, falling, and tampering. This makes it highly useful for tracking access to drawers, safes, or even medication boxes.
Dual Protocol Connectivity
Aqara built the P100 to support both Zigbee and Thread networks. Connecting the sensor via Thread allows it to integrate directly into Matter ecosystems like Apple Home, Google Home, and Amazon Alexa. This provides reliable local control without requiring a dedicated manufacturer hub.
Users who prefer more detailed data can connect the sensor via Zigbee to an Aqara hub. The Zigbee connection unlocks advanced event logs, sensitivity adjustments, and custom reporting intervals within the native Aqara application.
Pricing and Availability
The P100 features smart calibration to establish a precise reference position upon installation. Onboard artificial intelligence algorithms continuously learn and correct minor sensor drift over time to reduce false alerts. The device runs on a single CR2450 battery and features ten adjustable sensitivity levels.
You can purchase the sensor right now through the official Aqara online store for roughly 30 dollars. It will also become available on Amazon starting May 12th.
