Aqara Launches Thermostat Hub W200 with Native Matter and Thread Support

Aqara has officially released its new Thermostat Hub W200 in the North American market. This release introduces a unique device that functions as both a climate controller and a central connection node for your entire smart home. The unit natively supports Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Samsung SmartThings.

Aqara Launches Thermostat Hub W200 with Native Matter and Thread Support

A Thermostat and Multi Protocol Hub Combined

The W200 stands out because it operates as a fully featured smart home hub. It includes built in support for Thread and Zigbee protocols. This allows the device to act as a Matter bridge and a Thread Border Router to strengthen your local mesh network.

You can connect your existing Zigbee sensors directly to the thermostat and expose them to your preferred Matter ecosystem without needing a separate standalone hub. The hardware also supports dual band Wi-Fi to ensure a reliable connection to your home router.

Advanced Presence Detection and Apple Home Features

Aqara equipped the new thermostat with an internal millimeter wave radar sensor. This technology detects actual human presence up to three meters away rather than relying on basic motion triggers. The screen automatically wakes up as you approach it.

The W200 is also the first thermostat to support the new Adaptive Temperature and Clean Energy Guidance features found in Apple iOS 26. These software tools automatically adjust your home climate based on your daily routine and local grid efficiency to save energy.

Smart Screen Controls and Installation

The hardware features a four inch color touchscreen that acts as a central control panel. Users can view live snapshots from compatible Aqara video doorbells and unlock smart locks directly from the thermostat display.

The unit supports most North American HVAC setups including furnaces and heat pumps. It requires a standard common wire for power but Aqara sells a separate adapter if your current wiring lacks one. The device is currently available for 159 dollars on Amazon.
