The Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 from Aqara uses Matter over Thread to connect to your smart home. Thread is a low-power mesh network built for devices like a Illuminance, Motion. Devices pass messages to each other, so the mesh gets stronger and reaches further with every router you add.

In a Thread network, the Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 works as a End Device (MTD).

The Aqara Motion and Light Sensor P2 is certified on Matter 1.0, the first release from October 2022. It covers the core smart home devices: lights, plugs, switches, locks, thermostats, blinds, sensors, TVs and bridges, all running over Wi-Fi, Thread or Ethernet.
